Freedom fighter passes away

Munger, Dec 30 (UNI) Freedom fighter and popular labour leader, Vishnu Thakur passed away after protracted illness here today.

He was 88.

He is survived by five sons and three daughters.

Thakur had participated in the freedom stuggle and had been in jails on several occassions.

He had worked with the district electricity supply labour union, Munger gun factory labour union and several other trade unions for decades.

Many prominent figures here condolded the demise of Thakur and said his death caused a huge loss to the labourers and workers community in the district.
