Freedom fighter dies following illness

Kannur, Dec 30 (UNI) Former MLA and Freedom fighter P Bhaskaran died at a private hospital here today following prolonged illness.

He was 86.

Mr Bhaskaran entered politics in 1942 with Quit India Movement struggle. He was elected from the Kannur assembly constituency in 1980, 1982, 1987 and 1991.

He was also the Municipal Chairman of Kannur Municipality from 1995 to 1997.
