Srinagar, Dec 30 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government has asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to pay attention to agriculture, horticulre and floriculture sectors to enhance their productivity in order to eradicate poverty from the country.

Addressing the scientists of Krishi Vigyaan Kendra (KVK) and progressive farmers after inaugurating the building of KVK completed at a cost of Rs 70 lakh at Pumbai, Kulgam, Minister for Agriculture Abdul Aziz Zargar said today that he has already submitted certain suggestions to the Prime Minister.

He said he has pleaded for paying attention to these sectors.

The Minister emphasized the need for taking revolutionary steps to boost agriculture production.

The Minister said that Pulwama and Budgam districts are self sufficient in milk production adding that farmers of Anantnag and Kulgam districts should also put in their best to increase milk production in their area.
