9 injured in Sarpanch election
Akola, Dec 30 (UNI) Nine persons were seriously injured following a violent clash between two rival groups in the election of Sarpanch at village Malshelu under Mangrulpir police station in Washim district.
According to police, the clash took place yesterday afternoon when two rival groups led by Gujur and Chavan allegedly attacked each other with sharp weapons. The two groups also pelted stones on each other which even damaged a car.
All the injured were admitted to General Hospital.
More than 100 persons from both the groups were booked for rioting and the process of nabbing the culprits is on, police added.
