PM on two-day visit to Andhra from Jan 2

Visakhapatnam, Dec 29: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will arrive here on January 2, a day before the inauguration of the 95th Indian Science Congress, officials from the Andhra University and the District Administration today said.

Sources said Dr Singh would arrive here by special Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft at 1355 hrs. He would then leave for Eastern Naval Command by 1400 hrs and spend the day on board a ship. On the next day, he would inaugurate the Indian Science Congress and address the women SHGs members at the Port Trust Stadium after which he would fly to New Delhi, the officials added.

A tight security blanket would be thrown over the city and all the important roads would be closed to public transport during the PM's visit.
