'Pak to exhume Benazir's body for inquiry'
Islamabad,
Dec
29:
The
Interior
Ministry
of
Pakistan
on
Saturday
said
that
the
government
would
exhume
late
premier
Benazir
Bhutto"s
body
for
inquiry
if
her
Pakistan
People"s
Party
make
a
demand
in
this
direction.
“If the PPP leadership says, her body can be exhumed," The News quoted Interior Ministry spokesman Brigadier Javed Cheema, as saying. Ruling out any international help in probing Benazir"s assassination, Cheema said, “We understand the environment, the international community does not understand it."
Commenting on the cause of Benazir"s death, he said: “Whether she died of a bullet or a wound... the fact is, unfortunately we have lost her."
Talking about Baitullah Mehsud"s denial of any involvement in Benazir"s death, Cheema said, “no criminal would ever accept" responsibility for his crimes and that the government version was accurate.
“We have the evidence that he is involved and let the investigation work on that," Cheema said.
He went on to say that the Pakistan Government account was “absolute facts -- nothing but facts."
