Foreigner shot dead in train; passengers looted

Chitrakoot, Dec 28 (UNI) Unidentified assailants shot dead a foreigner and grievously wounded a woman and looted the passengers of Varanasi-Mumbai bound Kamyani Express here this morning.

The incident occurred near Manikpur railway station, where few men barged into the AC-2 coach.

Few passenger, including a Russian and an Indian women, resisted.

The robbers shot at the two women, in which the Russian succumbed on the spot, whereas the other was grievously wounded.

Later, the criminals decamped with jewellery and cash worth Rs 50 lakh, official sources said.
