Bhutto's killing can affect talks with Pak: J

Jammu, Dec 28 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lt Gen S K Sinha (Retd) said the on going peace process between India and Pakistan will certainly be affected after the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

Talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of a function, the Governor described the situation in Pakistan after Ms Bhutto's killing as ''very shocking and grave'' and hoped that the people of neighbouring country would come out of sordid phase soon.

Asked whether the killing of former Pakistan Prime Minister will have any bearing on the talks set in motion with Islamabad, Lt Gen Sinha said the incident would certainly affect the Indo-Pak peace process.

But, he said, ''it (Pakistan situation) will have no effect on the peace process within our country (between the government and people of Jammu and Kashmir).

He exuded confidence that the people of the sub-continent will strive for bringing about peace and defeat the cult of terrorism.
