2007: Business Highlights of India

New Delhi, Dec 25, 2007 : 2007 can best be summarized as the Year of the Sensex.

It had taken the Sensex 20 years to cross the first 10,000 points; but it paraded past the 20,000 mark in just about 20 months. The raiding bulls scorned at the weak global trends and the Indian markets continued to defy gravity in 2007. It was, however, not a one-way movement for the Sensex: It experienced some extremely sharp falls too, wiping out many investors" savings.
