Teji Bachchan's ashes immersed in Ganga

Allahabad, Dec 27 (UNI) Megastar Amitabh Bachchan today immersed the ashes of his nonagenerian mother Teji Bachchan in Sangam, the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati rivers.

Accompanied by wife Jaya Bachchan, brother Ajitabh, his wife Ramola, newly wed couple Abhishek-Aishwarya, son-in-law Nikhil Nanda, SP General Secretary and close friend Amar Singh, he reached Bamrauli Airport by a private plane amid tight security this morning.

The superstar went by a private bus to Ganga ghat and hired a boat to Sangam.

The entire immersion ceremony was arranged by Prayag Bal Sabha, while the responsibility was entrusted to SP MP Shyama Charan Gupta.

A huge crowd had gathered on beaches of the river Ganga to catch to catch a glimpse of the superstar.

After staying for around 20 minutes, the party left for Satna in Madhya Pradesh.

Teji Bachchan died after a prolonged illness in Mumbai on December 21. She was 93.
