Severe chill returns, mercury dips to 4.8

New Delhi, Dec 27 (UNI) Severe chill returned to the capital today with the mercury plummeting to 4.8 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal.

The minimum temperature, which was 8.3 degrees C yesterday, further dropped four notches. Visibility was 700 metres.

The maximum also dropped slightly to 22 degrees Celsius which was normal. It was 23 degrees yesterday.

The Met office forecast mainly clear sky tomorrow with light mist likely in the morning.

A further drop in the night temperature has been predicted for the next two days.

The minimum temperature is likely to drop to 4 degrees Celsius tomorrow.
