156 accident deaths in Tripura in 2007

Agartala, Dec 27: Altogether 156 people died in 142 road accident in 2007 in Tripura, which has emerged as a major cause of concern for the administration.

According to the annual accident report, about 50 people killed in 42 different road accidents while passenger carriers claimed 35 lives and two-wheelers ran-over and killed 20 people in past year.

Altogether 64 people were killed in private car accidents in the state last year and on an average, at least 13 mishaps took place every month, the report observed.
