Udupi ZP submits proposal to help Naxal victims

Udupi, Karnataka, Dec 26 (UNI) Udupi Zilla Panchayat (ZP) has submitted a proposal, seeking special grants from the Karnataka Government to improve the economic conditions of the people in 13 Naxal-hit villages in the coastal district.

Briefing newspersons here, ZP President Raju Poojary said the ZP had sought a special grant of Rs ten lakh each for the 13 gram panchayats for implementing the scheme.

Among the 13 villages, six were in Kundapura taluk and the rest in Karkala and there was noticeable Naxal movement in the area.
