Toyota to sell 9.85 mn vehicles in 2008

New Delhi 26th, 2007 : Automaker giant Toyota announced on 25th December that it plans to achieve a sale target of 9.85 million vehicles globally in the year 2008. The company has more New Year wishes. Toyota"s production target is 9.95 million vehicles worldwide during next year which is up by 5 per cent from this year.

With these announcements the race between Toyota and the world"s top automaker General Motors has become hotter. If Toyota achieves the announced targets, the figures would put the company far ahead of the industry record of 9.55 million vehicles sold by GM in 1978.
