TDB plans to tackle 'aravana' shortage at Sabarimala

Pathanamthitta, Dec 26 (UNI) Sabarimala special officer K Jayakumar today said the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) would strive to supply eight containers of 'aravana prasadam' per devotee during the 'Makaravilakku' pilgrimage season.

Talking to newspersons at 'sannidhanam', he said a stock of five lakh tins of 'aravana' was required to meet this.

An emergency meeting convened by Mr Jayakumar at 'pampa' reviewed the security arrangements.

The meeting decided to deploy 100 more policemen at pampa.

People waiting in the queue would be provided with drinking water, he added.
