Madurai, Dec 26 (UNI) Seven young Jain women from the city have chosen to tread the spiritual path by declaring themselves as 'Sadhvis', today.

Following the footsteps of the first Sadhvi Arvika Chandana, the young Jain women Poonam Kumari, Harita Kumari, Indu Kumari, Shilpa Kumari, Leela Kumari, Sivanthilal Kumari and Rimbu Kumari left their respective families to pursue spiritual life.

The young women, clad in traditional Jain garments, were taken out in an open car procession in the city, followed by a large number of Jains, amid chanting of Lord Mahaveera keerthanas.

They would leave for Rajasthan to take the blessings of Hemanthiri Swamiji to serve as Sadhvis.
