Over 5,000 persons deputed for counting duty

Shimla, Dec 26 (UNI) Chief Electoral Officer Manisha Nanda today said that 5,000 persons had been deputed on counting duty in the state.

She said that 2,040 persons would assist the counting process in the state to be held on December 28. She said that 41 engineers from the Bharat Electronics Limited, Bangalore (BEL) would also be on duty to ensure smooth functioning of Electronic Voting Machines(EVMs).

She said that 68 observers would supervise the counting process.

For the coverage of news 552 counting passes to the press people had been issued, she added.
