Elections bring development: Geelani

Jammu, Dec 26 (UNI) Expressing his faith in elections, All Party Hurriyat Conference Chairman Sayed Ali Shah Geelani has said voting is a medium of development for the state.

Speaking to newspersons at a press conference here, Mr Geelani said no state could develop better without the electoral process.

''better infrastructure, road connectivity, hospitals and various other facilities are only possible due to the elections,'' he said.

The hardcore separatist leader also expressed concern over the killing of militants inside a mosque in Srinagar, who were gunned down to set free the hostages. ''Security forces are troubling people in the Valley. They also fired upon the funeral of these ultras while the mosque was also damaged during the firing, Mr Geelani alleged.
