Dredging work commences at Pondy port

Puducherry, Dec 26 (UNI) Dredging work at the estuary of the Puducherry port began today with 'TSD Sinduraj', the dredging ship owned by the Kerala Maritime Development Corporation, commencing its work.

Puducherry Health and Port Minister E Valsaraj flagged off the dredger in presence of Legislators Anbazhagan and Dr M A S Subramanian, besides senior officials of the administration.

Fishermen were finding it difficult to venture into the sea due to accumulation of sand at the estuary, hindering passage of big vessels.
