Ballia, Dec 26 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati today reiterated her blame holding the Centre responsible for the recent spurt in terrorist activities in the state.

''Both due to the Centre's non-cooperation and inadequate security deployment along the international borders in the country, terrorists are continously intruding in UP,'' Ms Mayawati said addressing an election meeting in run up to the December 29 Ballia bypoll.

Inveighing the Congress led-United Progressive Alliance (UPA) regime at the Centre, the BSP supremo alleged, ''following the former's step-motherly treatment, the state government is forced to take assistance of the private sector for giving pace to several developmental schemes...the Centre even refused to sanction Rs 80,000 crore for the welfare of poor, down-trodden and poor among the upper castes.'' The BSP also advocates providing reservation to poors among the upper caste. The state government had written a letter to the Centre in this regard, but it turned a deaf ear this time also, she charged.
