Woman, sons beheaded in UP land fued

Lucknow, Dec 25 (UNI) A woman and her two sons were decapitated by unidentified assailants in the Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh.

Police today said the killings could be a result of a fierce land dispute. However, no one had so far been named in the FIR.

Masked men fired indiscriminately upon Ishwari Devi (55) and her two sons Bantu (35) and Deepu (18) at their Abhinaypura village house late last night, killing them.

The accused later beheaded their bodies and threw them on street.

Quoting local police officials, the DGP office here said the horrendous act could be a result of a land dispute between Ishwari Devi and her brother-in-law's family.

Her brother-in-law Lakay Singh was killed in 1998, in which Ishwari and Bantu were accused. But, they were recently let off by a local court.

The crime is being seen as a revenge killing even as investigations were underway.
