Two Haryana officers booked for panchayat land fraud

Chandigarh, Dec 25 (UNI) The Haryana police has registered cases of corruption and forgery against two officers, including one Haryana Civil Services (HCS) officer following charges of misappropriation of panchayat land in Gurgaon district.

Further investigation of these cases have been given to a ASP ranking police official.

Cases of corruption and forgery were registered against the former Gurgaon SDM-cum-assistant collector, Vivek Padam Singh under sections 420, 467, 468, 469, 120B and section 13(1)D of Anti Corruption Act in police stations of Gurgaon. Similarly, a case has been registered against former District Development and Panchayat Officer V S Malik.

According to Gurgaon, Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Gupta the cases pertained to officers selling panchayat land to the land mafia. The matter was investigated by the vigilance cell and accordingly the cases were registered against the two officers.
