Standing Committee discusses grievances of Non-Resident Goans

Panaji, Dec 25 (UNI) The first meeting of the Standing Committee on 'NRI Grievances', under the chairmanship of the NRI Affairs Commissioner Eduardo Faleiro, was held at the Porvorim Secretariat Complex here today.

The grievances, related to town planning, police, passports and others faced by the Non-Resident Goans, were brought to the notice of the authorities by the representatives of the International Goan Association of Toronto, International Goan Organisation of Ontario, and Goan Association of Abu Dhabi among others.

The meeting resolved to redress the grievances within a month and the progress be communicated to the complainant every month till the issue is settled.

The committee meets at least once every three months. District collectors and senior officers of both the Centre and the state government participated in the meeting.
