'Mirugam' crew, lead actor hold fast on Censor Board decision

Chennai, Dec 25 (UNI) The crew members of the hit Tamil film ''Mirugam'' (animal) today staged a day-long fast in protest against the Censor Board's decision to delete ''Jallikattu'' (Taming of Bulls, a popular rural sport) scenes from the film.

The film shot in rural background has become hit at the box office.

Film Producer Karthik Jai, Director Sami and Adhi, who played the lead role and other crew members participated in the fast held in front of the Government Guest House at Chepauk.

Speaking at the fast venue, Mr Karthik Jai said it was not only to condemn the deletion of the 'Jallikattu' scenes from the film, but also to urge the Censor Board to allow depiction of such scenes in all films in future.

''Depicting such scenes in films will give a fillip for the development of rural sport like this,'' he added.
