New Delhi, Dec 25 (UNI) Former Union Minister Satya Prakash Malaviya and other dignitaries paid floral tributes at the portrait of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya here today to mark his 146th Birth Anniversary.
At a function held in the Central Hall of Parliament House, Mr P D T Achary, Secretary General, Lok Sabha and Dr V K Agnihotri, Secretary General, Rajya Sabha also paid floral tributes at the portrait.
Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya was a renowned freedom fighter and great patriot, peerless parliamentarian, eminent educationist, social and religious reformer and brilliant orator, a Lok Sabha Secretariat release said.
A booklet covering his profile, brought out in Hindi and English by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, was also presented to the dignitaries on the occasion.
Panditji's portrait was unveiled by the then President of India, Dr Rajendra Prasad, in the Central Hall of Parliament House on December 19, 1957, in recognition of his outstanding services to the nation.
