Chuharchak accident: Bus driver arrested

Moga, Dec 25 (UNI) The Railway Police today arrested the absconding driver whose bus collided with Sutlej Express on December 14 at Chuharchak Nawan level crossing in the district.

The bus driver, Iqbal Singh, was arrested by the police near Dhudike village.

Iqbal, who was injured in the accident, was admitted in the DMC Hospital in Ludhiana. However he escaped from the hospital on December 22.

The Railway Police had registered the case against the gateman of the crossing and the bus driver in connection with the incident, which claimed 16 lives, including seven children.

The gateman had already been arrested by the Railway Police.
