A Village Panchayat member murdered

Mandya, Dec 25 (UNI) Miscreants have brutally murdered village panchyat member Srinivas in Palahalli in Srirangapatna taluk in the district last late night.

Police said that the miscreants, who were waiting for return of Mr Srinivas from his Sericulture Kothi attacked him with longs and hatches and murdered him.

Superintendent of Police Sreenath Kumar visited the spot and reason was said to be old emimity as Srinivas was an eye witness in a criminal case and relatives of those who were punished in the case might have committed this murder, he added.
