5 killed, 12 injured as truck overturns in Vadodara

Vadodara, Dec 25 (UNI) Five people, including two women, were killed and twelve others injured when a tiles-laden truck skidded off the National highway number 8 on outskirts of the city.

Police said the victims, mostly labourers who were travelling in the truck, were trapped under the tiles when it overturned last night, while allowing another vehicle to overtake it.

The bodies of the deceased, including a three-year-old boy, were found by the local people.

The injured were rushed to the SSG hospital, where the condition of four was stated to be critical.

Sources said most of the victims hailed from Dabhoi and Karjan and were on their way to Surat.
