Time of counter replies is over; must make Guj forefront state: Modi

Ahmedabad, Dec 24 (UNI) Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who will take his third swearing-in oath tomorrow, today vowed that Gujarat will be taken further ahead in its progress path as promised in pre-assembly election menifesto.

Addressing a large public rally organised to give 'public thanking' for victory of his party held at BJP headquarter here this evening, Mr Modi thanked people for voting his party back to power and termed the victory as people's confidence in him and BJP as they gave good governance.

Mr Modi said, ''The Congress in its 45 years rule in Gujarat had failed to provide good governance because of lack of will to do so, as otherwise he has done it with the same people and system which was by and large set up by Congress since indendence.'' He assured the people that there would be no gap between government and common man in serving the society at large. In a bid to assure minority community of their safety, Mr Modi said, ''He and his Government will work for all irrespective of individual social, economical or religious identity.'' Taking a dig at weak policy of Congress led-UPA government at Centre in handling terrorism in the country, Mr Modi said recently during attending the meeting in New Delhi he had suggested to the Centre to set up Security University to set up right kind of internal security fabric in the country for countering terrorism.

He had suggested that this University will give training to its students from security to intelligence work in the country for its protection.

The Chief Minister also emphasised on creating a third administrative cadre on line of IAS and IPS to give credit and respect to the intelligence network agencies of the country, which otherwise being considered as ''punishment posting or degradable job'' in law enfocement agencies.

Mr Modi also declared that by the end-2008, each of 18,000 villages will have same hi-tech technology facilities, which he enjoys at his Chief Minister Chamber, to provide distance learning education and information to common man.

While speaking on the occasion, senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu termed the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as a weak prime minister with indecisive mind.

Comparing Modi with Mr Singh, Naidu said, ''Mr Singh Proposes, Madam Sonia Disposes'' while in BJP Modi has final saying on all issue pertaining to Gujarat.

Mr Naidu also predicted that the Gujarat result will make difference at the Centre and it will de-stablise the UPA Government.

He also said, the Gujarat's landside victory is going to be repeated in Himachal Pradesh too where results will be out soon. The Gujarat result was an indication of the people that they wanted to opt for BJP for growth.
