Three drown as jeep falls in canal

Sheopur (MP), Dec 24: Three women drowned when their jeep fell into a canal of Chambal river, about eight km from the district headquarters, while trying to save a bicycle rider police said today.

Chakabmudia village-resident Sukhvinder Singh was going along with his daughters in a jeep to drop them at a private school for writing an examination yesterday when the incident occurred.

Sukhwinder Singh's wife Baljeet Kaur (38) and daughters Kuldeep (12) and Sarvajeet (19) drowned. However, Sukhwinder managed to swim to safety. The bodies were sent for autopsy.
