RSS-sponsored 'hartal' against killing peaceful

Alappuzha, Kerala, Dec 24 (UNI) Even as tension prevails in the Charrummoodu Area of this district following the killing of an RSS 'karyavahak,' a 'hartal' called today by the Sangh to protest the incident was been peaceful.

RSS activist Vinod (25) was hacked to death by a group of men last evening.

Police suspect the assailants to be workers of the National Democratic Front (NDF) though the organisation has denied its involvement in the killing.

A 'hartal' called by the RSS in Mavelikkara Taluk to protest the murder was peaceful so far.

However, as a precaution, heavy police patrolling was on in the area.
