Leaders convey Christmas greetings

greeted
Christians
on
the
eve
of
Christmas,
the
birthday
of
Jesus
Christ.
In his message, Mr Barnala said ''let the holy occasion of Christmas rekindle the spirit of universal brotherhood, love and compassion and promote peace and harmony.
''I wish all my Christian brethren a happy and merry Christmas,'' a Raj Bhavan communique here said quoting him.
Chief Minister M Karunanidhi said the government has proved to be a sincere friend of the minorities by granting 3.5 per cent reservation for Christians in education and jobs similar to the benefit extended to the Muslims.
Jesus Christ said 'Love is the basis for everything.' Similarly, Christianity signified simiplicity,forgiveness and helping tendency.
Lord Jesus spread the message of tolerance and love among the masses. On this occasion, let us take a pledge to root out differences in the society and work for the uplift of the poor and the marginalised, he said.
TNCC President M Krishnasamy, MDMK General Secretary Vaiko and Puthiya Tamizhagam K Krishnasamy also greeted the Christians on the occasion.
