India, Cyprus to combat international terrorism

New Delhi, Dec 24: The Union Cabinet today gave its ex-post facto approval for the signing of a agreement between the Government of India and the Government of Cyprus for cooperation on combating international terrorism, organised crimes and illicit drug trafficking and to ratify the agreement.

This agreement would improve the effectiveness of both countries in the prevention, investigation, prosecution and suppression of crime including crime relating to terrorism and drug trafficking.

This also helps in establishing a framework for enhancing cooperation between the officials of intelligence and law-enforcement agencies of the parties.
