India adds 8.22 mn telecom connections in Nov

Total
8.22mn
telephone
connections
were
added
during
November
compared
to
7.89mn
connections
in
October,
according
to
the
Telecom
Regulatory
Authority
of
India
(TRAI).
The total number of telephone connections were 264.77mn at the end of November as against 256.55mn in October. The overall tele-density is 23.21% at the end of November versus 22.52% in October. In the wireless segment, there was an addition of 8.32mn subscribers in November as against 8.05mn subscribers in October.
The total wireless subscribers base was 225.46mn at the end of November. In the wireline segment, subscriber base decreased to 39.31mn in November as against 39.41mn subscribers in October.
Total broadband subscribers base reached 2.87mn by the end of November compared to 2.69mn by the end of October.
