Democracy to be strengthened after polls: Nawaz

PML(N)
chief
Nawaz
Sharif
today
said
democracy
would
emerge
victorious
after
the
general
elections
next
month.
Addressing
a
public
meeting
in
connection
with
his
election
campaign
in
Sukkur,
the
Pakistan
Muslim
League
leader
said
his
party
was
struggling
for
restoration
of
real
democracy
where
160
million
people
have
full
opportunity
to
decide
about
their
future.
He also said every Pakistani should play his role for restoration of democracy and its promotion, safety of all basic rights of civil society and for economic strength of the country. Mr Sharif said the January 8 elections were for the survival of Pakistan, and people would have to reject everyone responsible for the current ''lawlessness and anarchy'' in the country.
Deposed judges would be reinstated if the PML(N) came into power, the Associated Press of Pakistan quoted him as saying.
