Construction in NTPC paralysed by striking workers

Kahalgaon, Bihar, Dec 24 (UNI) Construction work in the 1500 MW unit of Kahalgaon-based NTPC remained paralysed today, following a workers' strike in protest against the death of an employee in an accident during the construction work.

Official sources here said an iron rod fell on the victim, who was working there as an employee of a private contractor. The labourer succumbed to his injuries last night.

Protesting against the death of their colleague and demanding compensation of Rs one lakh and job to the kin of the deceased, the workers went on strike paralysing the construction work during the day.
