Chiranjeevi's father dies after brief illness

Hyderabad, Dec 24: Well known Telugu film star Chiranjeevi's father K Venkat Rao died at the actor's residence here last night following brief illness.

He was 76. He is survived by three sons and two daughters. Mr Rao had worked in the state Excise department and was a district Superintendent of Police (SP) before his retirement. He had also acted in two Telugu films. Several prominent personalities, including political leaders, film stars and film producers, paid floral tributes to him. The mortal remains of Rao would be cremated in the evening.
