Amarinder's Pak friends visit figures in Punjab assembly

Chandigarh, Dec 24 (UNI) The visit of Pakistani journalist, Ms Aroosa Alam, a close friend of former chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh figured in the Punjab assembly here today.

Immediately after Question Hour, Virsa Singh Valtoha (SAD) was on his feet reminding Speaker Nirmal Singh Kahlon that he had sought an adjournment motion to discuss the visit of Ms Alam to the country.

Admist protests from Opposition Congress benches, the Speaker announced that the motion stood rejected. He disallowed any discussion on the issue despite Mr Valtoha persisting.

Ms Alam who arrived in Chandigarh, is here to call on the ailing mother of Capt Singh. The former chief minister remained absent from the House during the winter session which concluded today.
