5 killed in road accident in Uttar Pradesh

Azamgarh, Dec 24: At least five persons were killed and two others grievously injured, in a road accident under Kandarapur area here late last night, police today said.

They were returning from a fair in Ambedkar Nagar district, when their car hit a stationary truck parked on the roadside. Five persons, identified as Dharmendra Vishwakarma, Shyam Narain Yadav, Narendra Sharma, Ajay Vishwakarma and Vinod, died on the spot.

The two injured were later admitted to hospital in a critical condition.

All the deceased belonged to Azamgarh district, police added.

Bodies had been sent for post-mortem.
