2-day conference on Science and Spirituality begins today
Tirupati, Dec 23: A two-day All India Students Conference on Science and Spirituality, jointly organised by Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams (TTD) and Bhaktivendana Institute, began here.
Speaking on the occasion yesterday, Sri Ranga Ramanuja Periya Jeeyar Swami said through Bhagavat Gita the scientists not only gain spirituality, but also derive peace physically and mentally. This enables the scientists to work for the harmony of the society all over the world, he added.
The global spiritual guru and founder of 'Art of Living Foundation' Sri Ravi Shankar, lauded the organisers for inviting the youth, scientists and philosophers and the knowledge- seekers from the entire world.
Sri Ravi Shankar said ''Spirituality alone brings passion, joy and peace. The study of science and spiritualism have no borders and both shakes hands with each other and brings calm and peace to the mind and coordinates the rhythm in our body in the quest of knowledge''.
He said spirituality begins with the knowledge and knowledge begins with enquiry and leaves you in wonderment. Knowledge is a burden, if it was not integrated into life which bring you the happiness, he added.
TTD Executive Officer, K V Ramanachari, highlighted the significance of science, spirituality and cultural heritage for harmonising the world. Efforts should be made to alleviate the sufferings of poor, downtrodden masses through science and spirituality, he added.
