Soz shocked to hear about Bashir Akhtar's death

New Delhi, Dec 22 (UNI) Union Water Resources Minister Saifuddin Sox today expressed his deep sense of shock and anguish about the sudden death of noted Kashmiri writer Bashir Akhtar who died in Srinagar last evening.

In his message, Prof Soz said Mr Akhtar's death was untimely and was a great loss to Kashmiri literary lovers because the writer had earned acclaim for his short stories enriching the Kashmiri language and literature.

During his younger days, Mr Akhtar had the Publications Officer and Editor of prestegious 'Sheeraza' magainze in the Academy of Art, Culture and Languages with distinction.

"My deep sense of condolences to the family of the bereaved", Prof Soz said.
