Son kills father for not giving money for drinking

Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, Dec 22 (UNI) A man killed his octogenarian father and injured his 60-year-old mother when they refused to give him money to buy liquor, in Laxmipuram area in this district today.

Police said Chandrasekhar, the fourth son of Ramakeshavulu, got addicted to liquor after his wife left him in 2002. He regularly used to demand money from his parents for this purpose.

This morning he came to the house and asked for money from his parents. When they refused to oblige, Chandrasekhar, who was in an inebriated condition, tied his father with a rope and beat him up with a stick, injuring him fatally. His body was found lying in a pool of blood.

Later, he tied his mother's hands and beat her before she was detained in a room in the house.

Hearing her cries, the local people immediately informed the police. They admitted the injured mother to a private hospital immediately.

The accused, however, managed to escape from the house before the police reached the spot. A case was registered against him and the manhunt had been launched to nab him.
