Prez leaves for Chennai

Puducherry, Dec 22 (UNI) President Prathiba Devisingh Patil left today for Chennai after a two-day visit to the union territory.

Lt Governor Mukut Mithi, Chief Minister N Rangasamy, Chief Secretary Ragesh Bihari and DGP Khan saw the President off at 1210 hrs.

Ministers, MP, PCC President P Shanmugham and Former Speaker M D R Ramachandran were among those present at the Ouppalam Helipad.

During her visit, Ms Patil inaugurated the 34th Jawharlal Nehru National Science Exhibition and visited the Manakkula Vinayagar Temple, Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Sri Aurobindo International Centre for Education and the Auroville international City, near here.
