Kohima, Dec 22 (UNI) The Nagaland Progressive Alliance (NPA), led by leader of Opposition in the Assembly I Imkong continued with their endeavour in the national capital to dismiss the DAN government.

NPA is an alliance of Congress, JD(U), Independents and defected members of Nagaland Peoples' Front (NPF).

The NPA sources said here today that they have met External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi's Political Secretary Ahmed Patel and apprised them of the latest political uncertainty in Nagaland, following the Congress sponsored No Confidence Motion in the Assembly on December 13 last.

The Speaker had declared that the motion was won by DAN by 23-19 votes. However, NPA had claimed that altogether 31 legislators had voted in favour of the Motion and alleged tha the Speaker had unconstitutionally and undemocratically rejected 12 votes.

Mr Imkong also alleged that the action of the Speaker was ''outrageous and undemocratic with malafide intentions.'' Meanwhile, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, after returning from New Delhi, told the media persons that the Centre was convinced on the legality of the Speaker and there was no threat to his ministry.
