NALCO employee kidnapped for ransom

Angul, Dec 22 (UNI) A junior operator trainee in NALCO here was kidnapped by some unknown miscreants yesterday while he was on his way to the plant on night duty.

The abductors reportedly threatened to kill him unless they were paid Rs.10 lakh as ransom.

Police said Krisna Nanda Dehuri(20) belonged to Kukudanga village under Angul police station was kidnapped by some unknown miscreants who claimed that they have kept him in the Satkosia sanctuary and would release only after they were paid the ransom.

His family members was inforrmed from NALCO office, that Krishna did not report for the night shift duty.

Krishna's father Manmohan contacted on son's mobile but the abductors picked it up and conveyed that his son had been kidnapped.

An FIR has been lodged by the operator's father.

Angul Superintendent of Police Pratik Mahanty said senior police officers have been sent to various locations for enquiry and search operation was on to nab the abductors.

There was no information about whereabouts of Krishna so far, Police said.
