Lifer found hanging in Tamil Nadu

Karur (Tamil Nadu), Dec 22: A convict, awarded life-term, was found hanging in a field at Mayiladumparai Village near Kulithalai of this district early today.

Police said Mani, alias Rangaraj, of Kuppureddypatti village was convicted in a murder case and lodged in the Tiruchirapalli Central Prison. He jumped parole in July 2006. This morning, the villagers saw his body hanging from a tree in the field and informed the police. The body was taken to the Kulithalai Government Hospital for a post-mortem.
