Two killed in firing in Uttar Pradesh

Muzaffarnagar, Dec 22: At least two people were killed and three others wounded in an armed clash between two rival groups in Fugana area here today.

SSP Ashok Mutha Jain said the two groups, nursing rivalry since the last gram pradhan election, came face-to-face in Karoda village and indulged in the crossfire.

One person each from the rival groups, identified as Sachin and Vinit, died in the conflict. Vinit is a PAC personnel, Mr Jain informed.

Police in strength had been deployed in the area to prevent any untoward incident.

One of the critically wounded was referred to Meerut for treatment.

An investigation was on.
