1 labourer killed, others trapped in quarry landslide

Kochi, Dec 22 (UNI) At least one woman labourer was killed and three others were feared trapped under the rubble in a landslide in a stone quarry at Kuzhoor at Muvatupuzha near here today.

Police said one of the two women labourers rescued from the rubble died on the way to the hospital.

Three others were feared trapped in the rubble and rescue operations were on by the fire force police personnel.

The accident occurred around 1420 hrs. The landslide, which was continuing, was suspected to have been triggered by explosives used to split open the rocks.
