Haneef wins Australia Visa appeal

New Delhi, 21 Dec, 2007 : Indian origin doctor Mohammed Haneef won a court battle on December 21st to return to Australia on a work visa. The Federal Court of Australia dismissed an appeal by government lawyers against a judge's decision to reinstate Haneef's visa.

The 27-year-old's lawyer Peter Russo said outside the court that it was not clear whether his client would return to Australia to work even if he is allowed to. Haneef has spent most of the past five months at his family home in Bangalore.
