Teji Bachchan passes away in Mumbai

Mumbai, Dec 21 (UNI) Mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan's mother Teji Bachchan passed away at the Lilavati Hospital here today following a prolonged illness.

Teji Bachchan, 93, who had been in hospital for quite some time, was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) last month.

The widow of renowned Hindi poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, she had been ailing for quite sometime. And it was for this reason only that the wedding of her grandson, Abhishek, with celebrated film actress Aishwariya Rai, earlier this year, was kept a low-key affair.
